I really don't think this is true. Sound has nothing to do with the electromagnetic spectrum. For example sound needs air in order to exist whereas light (belonging to the electromagnetic spectrum) doesn't.

Well that's a mistake. Clint was trying to make an analogy to how easily we distinguish light frequencies.

The sentence can be easily corrected by removing "electromagnetic spectrum" and instead putting "sound" or another term (I'm not a native speaker).
